HiloMax Systems Supports Infineon OPTIGA™ TPM Firmware Programming to Accelerate Time-to-Market for Device Manufacturers
Infineon Technologies AG and HiloMax Semiconductor, a leading brand in IC programming and testing, jointly announced a partnership in Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security IC on April 13, 2023. HiloMax Semiconductor has officially become an Associated Partner of Infineon in the Greater China market, providing firmware update and programming services for Infineon OPTIGA™ TPM security IC, helping device manufacturers accelerate their product time-to-market.
Digitalization and the Internet of Things (IoT) bring greater intelligence and convenience to daily life. Meanwhile, cybersecurity requirements for devices continue to rise. TPMs provide a secure platform for data and processes in embedded systems by creating and storing cryptographic keys and ensuring the integrity of device operating systems and firmware. Infineon’s OPTIGA TPM family supports TCG TPM 1.2 and the latest 2.0 standards, making it an ideal choice for security in ICT, computers, servers, and IoT applications.
Device manufacturers often need to address operating system (OS) updates and evolving TPM versions. To make the best and most flexible use of IC inventory across different revisions, manufacturers also require frequent firmware updates on TPM devices. Performing in-factory firmware updates represents an additional task for them to deploy. Thanks to the collaboration between the two companies, HiloMax Systems provides industry-leading secure programming technology to support firmware updates across Infineon’s full OPTIGA TPM portfolio.
HiloMax Systems operates in numerous locations worldwide, including more than 20 programming centers with secured programming zones, enabling device manufacturers to deploy TPM devices quickly and flexibly. This reduces the effort and cost of firmware updates, thereby accelerating time-to-market and meeting the demand for agile supply chains.
“The importance of security elements has been recognized and emphasized by major brands in the ICT industry. Today, TPM momentum extends beyond the PC market and is finding its place in many emerging markets at the IoT edge,” said Theodore Varelas, Director of Product Marketing and Management for IoT Security at Infineon. “Infineon’s OPTIGA TPM family is Common Criteria certified EAL4+, easy to integrate, and delivers security solutions for many device manufacturers. Through our partnership with HiloMax Systems, we are delighted to offer comprehensive and extensive customer support to accelerate TPM production and deployment.”
“HiloMax Systems has over 40 years of history in the IC programming industry, and our technology is recognized by leading international brands. We have collaborated with Infineon for many years,” said Szu Po Huang, Vice President of HiloMax Systems. “We provide firmware update and source code programming services for Infineon microcontrollers, including the AURIX™ and PSoC families, as well as the AIROC™ family for wireless connectivity. We are pleased to expand our partnership into the security IC sector. We aim to build a more complete secured production chain with Infineon, ensuring the highest level of manufacturing security for our customers and laying a solid foundation for IoT security.”
